Charles "Chuck" Schumer (born November 23, 1950) is a member of the United States Senate, where he has represented New York since 1999. He was previously a member of the United States House of Representatives from 1981 to 1999.
Schumer is a member of the Democratic Party and the third highest ranking Democratic member of the Senate. He is the Chairman of the Committee on Rules and Administration and also serves on the Senate Judiciary Committee, the Committee on Finance, and the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs.
As a member of the Judiciary Committee, Senator Grassley voted in favor of moving the PROTECT IP Act out of committee for a vote on the Senate floor. He was withdrawn his support of the legistlation since then.
